Patternmaking
The benefit from having a functional basicblock is great.
Time is money.
You can place an order at different suppliers and still get the same final result.
The blockpattern is the basic pattern that is used as a basis for all adaptations.
The working pattern is used for marking out the basic style lines and design features.
(e.g. pockets, collars, buttonhole placings) Pattern sections are traced off and may be further adapted.
Complicated styles may need a number of trials at this stage.
The stylepattern/ the final pattern is the pattern from which the garment will be cut.
It must be clearly marked with all the information required for making up the garment.
